Time-Saving Tips For Your Skincare Routine

It must be every woman’s dream to luxuriate in their skincare routine. Imagine if you have all the time (and money) to devote to a regimen that’ll help you maintain that glowing, radiant, and clear skin. Well, in a perfect world, that’s what you’re hoping for.

In reality, crazy mornings and tiring evenings are a real struggle. No matter how much you put emphasis on caring for your skin, your busy schedule can easily get in the way. When days get hectic, you’ll find it tricky to squeeze in a routine involving several steps that could take, at least, 30 minutes to complete.

Time may be of the essence, but being busy doesn’t have to imply your skin should suffer the consequences. At the end of the day, it pays to invest in a routine that gives your skin the care and attention it deserves. So, instead of tossing out your regimen, why not think of ways to cut your beauty routine in half? Here are some valuable tips you could consider:

  • Mix serums with your moisturizer

Serums are your skin’s best friend, especially if you’re targeting to reduce dark spots and wrinkles along with other skin problems you may have. However, these products may take too long before your skin can absorb their active ingredients. They say patience is a virtue, but when you can’t indulge longer than necessary, there’s a trick that can help you skip a few steps of your usual routine.

When you don’t have time to layer two or more serum products, combine them into a cocktail by adding a few drops of serum to your moisturizer. You can mix your go-to serums with your facial cream or moisturizer to still reap their benefits but with less time needed for the application. Just be careful not to mix ingredients that could clash, like retinol and Vitamin C. Using these ingredients at different times of the day is better as Vitamin C shields your skin from environmental pollutants, while retinol rebuilds and repairs the skin’s barriers. A good combination is Vitamin C and SPF, as they can work together in protecting the skin against UV damage.

  • Multi-task while using your facial mask

Exfoliating your skin with a mask that contains soothing and acne-fighting ingredients is a step that’s worth the time. Moreover, you only need to use the mask a few times per week. If the extra step bothers your hectic schedule, multi-tasking while masking is the answer.

Masking doesn’t require you to set aside extra time. When you arrive home from work or in the morning before wearing makeup, incorporate it into your regular routine. Put them on before preparing dinner, then rinse them off before eating because most masks work best when left on for around 15 minutes.

  • Don’t skip the sunscreen

Sunscreens will never be overrated, especially for skincare enthusiasts. No matter how crazy your morning may be, applying broad-spectrum sunscreen should always be the last step in your routine. If you think you’re saving time by skipping this product, think again.

The damage you can get from UV rays will eventually strike back, leaving you with more dark spots and wrinkles. In the long run, you’ll have to use more products to target those problems. Prevention is better than a cure, and shielding your skin is the best way to do so.

The bottom line

Investing in a skincare routine is crucial, regardless of age or gender. You may think you don’t have enough time to squeeze it into your busy schedule, but maybe you’re just not trying hard enough. These tips can help you save time and build a regimen that allows you to maintain your on-the-go lifestyle without letting your glowing and radiant skin suffer.
